In 1989 a group of parents in Stoughton determined that there was a need for an after school program for elementary children in Grades 1- 5 and that is when Stoughton Extended Day was born. Since then, we have added care for kindergarten children and middle school children.
The obvious next step was to provide care for children ages 2.9 to pre-kindergarten age, so we organized and established the Preschool at Stoughton Extended Day to serve the younger children in and around the Stoughton Community. Established in September 2003 we are certified by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) for demonstrating excellence in preschool education and care. In the Fall 2009, we again expanded our services to include toddlers in our preschool program (15 months-2.9 years).
We offer full and half day programs at the Edwin Jones School in the heart of Stoughton, conveniently located near Stoughton Center, parks, playgrounds, the public library and main thoroughfares.

Children must be between the ages of 15 months to pre-kindergarten age, working on toilet training and socially ready for independence. We offer a full day program from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and two half-day programs, either morning from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM or afternoon from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. If your child is enrolled in a full day program, please send a nutritious lunch; we will provide two snacks and fruit juice or water each day.
Classrooms for children are clean and well equipped. There are large open spaces for children to run and explore under careful supervision of our licensed preschool educators.
